WHAT IT ACHIEVED
THE BUILD
How it was built
Job listings in Bangladesh were scattered across newspaper scans, Facebook groups and a handful of portals that were unusable on a cheap Android phone. The people who needed the listings most had the worst devices and the least data.
A native Android app with aggressive payload trimming and offline caching, a Django backend aggregating and normalising listings, push notifications for matched categories, and a lightweight web portal sharing the same API.
Django monolith with DRF for the app, PostgreSQL as the single source of truth, Redis for hot list caching, Celery for scraping and notification fan-out. Deliberately not microservices — one engineer had to be able to operate the whole thing.
